2016 Summer Outdoor Parity

Real life fantasy sports! MZU’s first foray into Parity-style leagues!

A “parity” league or “salary cap” league is an Ultimate league where the players have an assigned value (salary) that changes based on performance. Each team in turn has a salary cap that they must stay under to maintain eligibility in the league. Players will be traded each week to meet this requirement. The league that MZU will pilot is as follows:

  • Season: Summer 2016
  • League Name: Summer Outdoor Parity
  • Team Composition:  10 players minimum, with a typical composition of 6 males and 4 females.
  • Field Composition:  5 on 5, with a male to female ratio of 3:2 or 2:3, opponent is not required to match.
  • Fields: Southlands
  • Format:  This league has capacity for 6 teams. Zuluru Ranking System. 5 week round robin + 1 week playoff.
  • Playoffs: 1 vs 2, 3 vs 4, 5 vs 6.
  • Team Building: Captain’s draft initial teams. Salary based on draft position is assigned to each player. After each game, players’ salaries changes based on performance. Captain’s trade players to remain under the cap. See below
  • Registration:  Begins: Thursday, June 2nd, noon / Ends: Thursday, June 16th
    Registration extended until Wednesday, June 22nd, midnight
  • Signup:  Register as individuals.
  • When:  Monday Nights between 7:00-8:30 pm
  • Duration: 6 weeks – June 27th to August 1st
  • Cost:  $30 Reduced to $25 per person (+ UNL fee)
  • Jerseys: Not provided: players must bring black and white each week.

We will have 6 captains complete a snake draft to assign the teams. The draft will also assign the starting value for each player. The league will track the following stats to alter player values:

  • Goals
  • Assists
  • D
  • Drop
  • Catch
  • Throw Away
