We had announced a while back in February that we were ditching Spirit as a tiebreaker, but we didn’t fully outline the rules… so, here is the order we’ll follow (as outlined on Zuluru too!).<\/p>\n

1) Head-to-Head.<\/strong> If the teams who are tied have played each other, the team who won that game wins the tiebreaker.<\/div>\n

2) Head-to-Head Plus-Minus.<\/strong> This will not apply to our Summer League as this would only be relevant for teams that have played each other more than once and split those games. For example if two teams played each other twice and each won a game, this would be used to break the tie. Teams will never play each other more than once in a single round.<\/div>\n

3) Plus-Minus.<\/strong> This will be used if teams have played each other and tied, OR have not played each other at all. The total plus-minus for the round will be used and the team with the higher number wins the tiebreaker.<\/div>\n

4) 4th Tiebreaker is Goals For.<\/strong> This will be used if all of the conditions exist to go to plus-minus, AND the teams in question have the exact same plus-minus rating.
