This year, we\u2019re aiming to start strong by making the <strong><a title=\"Quidi Vidi Brewery\" href=\"https:\/\/quidividibrewery.ca\/\">Quidi Vidi Brewery<\/a> 2023 Winter Hat League<\/strong> our most spirited, inclusive league yet!\u00a0 We\u2019ve got three divisions for you to choose from!\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before we get to the details, feedback from our most recent hat league stated that we have room for improvement in welcoming players of all skill levels to this wonderful sport!<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So here is how we hope to work towards achieving that this season:<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em><strong>I<\/strong><strong>ntroducing MZU&#8217;s Winter Hat League&#8217;s Recreational 4v4 and 6v6 Divisions!<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>We have two recreation divisions meant to be fun and inclusive for everyone.<\/strong> <\/span><\/li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Sign up solo or with a partner &#8211; <\/strong>We encourage our more skilled players to partner with a friend who is looking to improve their ultimate game or is new to the game entirely!\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>No ladder rankings!<\/strong> What this means is a full 8 week schedule up front and no repeat matches.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>No playoffs<\/strong> \u2013 Playoffs promote winning above fun, and in a hat league winning should be secondary (fear not, we still have a competitive option, keep reading)<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So, a league with no winner?! <em><strong>Not quite!<\/strong><\/em> Rec league winners will be determined by the highest spirit score at the end of the season, so be spirited, cool, and inclusive and everyone wins!<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But, if you want COMPETITION and SPIRIT, we\u2019ve got an option for you too!<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our <strong>Competitive 4v4 League<\/strong>!<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You like competition and want it, so<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">let\u2019s do this right!<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Single sign-ups only<\/strong> \u2013 in an attempt to make this league as balanced and competitive as possible<\/span><b>,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> we are going to start with a clean slate for team building, aka no power duos.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Playoffs! <\/strong>They\u2019re happening! The final 3 weeks of the season will be dedicated to playoffs.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Still no repeat matches (during regular season), you\u2019ll get a 5 week schedule up front!<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Full 2023 Winter Hat League Details<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><em>Three Divisions &#8211; 8 Weeks &#8211; January 9th thru February 27th.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Registration opens December 10th (THIS SATURDAY!)<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both 4v4 Divisions will run at 9 pm and 6v6 at 8 and 10 pm.
